Burnley under-23s come back to draw at Leeds

In the preview for this game I referred to us having lost two goal leads in each of our two away games this season in the Professional Development League, at Coventry and QPR, but today it was our turn to come back from two behind.
Against a very strong Leeds side we trailed 1-0 at the interval with a goal from Gaetano Berardi, which went in via a deflection of Oliver Younger and was credited as an own goal, and just before the hour it was 2-0 when Kemar Roofe scored for the home side.
But there was a great response from the young Clarets with two goals in four minutes to earn a draw. First Dwight McNeil fired home to pull us back into the game and that was followed by a Younger header to earn us our first away point of the season.
It came against a very experienced Leeds side also who included eight players who have featured for the first team this season while only McNeil and Dan Agyei from the Burnley team have had any first team experience. The game also saw two of our players continue on their return from injury. Rob Harker came on as a substitute, as he’d done at Bournemouth, with Josh Benson (pictured) getting his first taste of match action this season.
We are next in action a week on Monday when we host Sheffield United. The venue is currently expected to be Curzon Ashton.
The teams were;
Leeds: Jamal Blackman, Jamie Shackleton, Gaetano Berardi, Conor Shaughnessy, Pascal Struijk, Hugo Diaz, Kemar Roofe (Jordan Stevens 70), Adam Forshaw, Sam Dalby (Robbie Gotts 87), Lewis Baker, Jack Clarke. Subs not used: Kamil Miazek, Leif Davis, Callum Nicell.
Burnley: Adam Bruce, Jordan Cropper, Oliver Younger, Anthony Glennon, Ali Koiki, Tunde Bayode, Mark Howarth, Mace Goodridge, Dwight McNeil, Tinashe Chakwana (Rob Harker 78), Dan Agyei (Josh Benson). Subs not used: George McMahon, Ed Cook, Marley Blair.
