Bayern Munich to battle Man Utd for unsettled Monaco sensation

Manchester United face competition from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the race to sign a 16-year-old Monaco starlet, a report claims.
The Red Devils reportedly made a deadline day approach to sign Hannibal Mejbri on the day that another one of their signings from Monaco, Anthony Martial, signed a new deal.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was not expected to make any signings this month, but, according to RMC Sport, United scouts have been sufficiently impressed by Mejbri and they expected a potential offer to be made.
The player, who underwent a trial with Arsenal in 2016 before signing for Monaco a year later, is a France Under-16 international and is already being viewed as a future full international for his country.
However, according to a report from Bild, United are not alone in their pursuit of Mejbri – as Bayern Munich are now keeping tabs on his progress. The Bavarian giants have already recruited a wealth of young talent recently; namely Chris Richards, Alphonso Davies, and Jann-Fiete Arp.
But they want to add Mejbri as well, and despite being on a contract with Monaco that runs until 2021, the player’s father Lotfi confirmed Hannibal’s desire to leave.
“We are determined to leave [Monaco],? he told L’Equipe.
Mejbri is yet to pay for the Monaco first-team but was understood to be close to being considered for their matchday squad.
